2011 Year in Review and Outlook 2012

Dear customers, business partners and friends of SEC,

The kids are back in school, the office party planners are back to work, and the Griswolds have finally taken down their lights–it’s time to review the last 12 months before providing a forecast of the new year ahead!

2011 marked SEC’s most successful year to date.

Once again, we posted record sales for the second year in a row, maintaining our status as a $30m domestic bare board manufacturer–and in spite of an overall industry decline.

Sales Figures

SEC completed a record year in spite of a -10% to -15% broad industry decline.

  • 2011 bookings +5.0% from 2010
  • 2011 sales +18.4% to $35m

In addition, SEC continued to provide informational tools and customer-focused solutions as well as equipment, facility and certification updates. In turn, SEC increased market share for the third year in a row.

Media

SEC found itself in the media in two capacities: not only providing technical information to customers and colleagues but also in recognition of our various achievements.

Speaking Engagements

Continuing to provide advice from our fabrication link in the PCB supply chain, Yash was tapped for two speaking engagements at the 2011 IPC APEX in Las Vegas:

  • Thermal Management for LED Applications with Clemens Lasance
  • Bridging the Gap between Design and Fabrication, where Yash was chosen to address and guide his fabrication peers

Building

10,000 Square Foot Expansion
Investing in Detroit real estate probably isn’t at the top of most folks’ investment agendas, but it made our list. In order to create more “elbow” room in the shop, we added 10,000 square feet for general operating space to our HASL, Inspection, and Testing areas.
