Current Resin System | Desired Resin System |
Focus: initial thermal shock, not constant heat | Remains white through assembly and lifespan |
Tend to brown over time | High reflectivity to enhance performance |
Not developed as LED reflecting surface | Result: lower power consumption |
Solution: White Hot Temperature LED Soldermask
During the past two years a number of LED white solder masks have been introduced. Unfortunately, we didn't see much of an improvement. That is why we have innovated our own solutions and identified two offerings that demonstrate significant improvements.
Achieving SuperWhite Soldermask While Resisting Browning
One way to achieve a "SuperWhite" solder mask that resists browning is to apply a second coat of thermal cured white soldermask over the LPI. However, this can cause a concern that the second coat may impede the thermal dynamics of the PCB surface.
